The European Union announced on Monday that it has eased visa restrictions, for people from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain.
The European Commission has approved three decisions that update the regulations for entry visas for citizens of these Gulf countries.
Under the rules individuals from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman can now obtain multiple entry visas that allow them to visit the EU times over a five year period using the same visa.
During the visas validity period holders will have travel privileges to those of citizens who do not require a visa.
“Exciting news today; Saudi nationals will now be eligible for 5 year Schengen visas starting from their application!” Ludovic Pouille, the ambassador to Riyadh shared on X social media platform.
Pouille expressed his countrys support for the decision.
“To our friends we are excited to welcome more of you to France whether its for leisure or business! Welcome, to France!” he added.
